GETIAN HAN
About
Hello! I'm Getian Han. After studying Creative and New Media at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for my undergraduate degree, I went on to study filmmaking at the London Film School. I have worked in various roles, including director, production designer, and producer, on student and independent films. Since graduating, I’ve been working part-time at a restaurant while taking on freelance production design work for films. Currently, I'm exploring opportunities in UX design and multimedia design.
One of the driving forces behind my continuous exploration in the film and media industry is storytelling. I firmly believe that I have stories to tell, and I’ve always been searching for the best way to share them.
When I was studying journalism and communication, with a focus on creative media, in Hong Kong, I held strong ideals about journalism, wanting to tell the stories of the world and its people. At that time, I had a passion for photojournalism, and I also took anthropology and sociology courses, as well as interned at a media company in Beijing. However, I realized that what I truly wanted to express couldn’t be conveyed through journalism.
It was then that I turned my attention to film, believing that storytelling through visual images and fictional narratives would offer more freedom. I realized that I’m better suited to creating with my own hands, and perhaps drawing my stories would allow my imagination to roam more freely.
Now, I’m exploring more avenues for creative work in illustration. I hope to strengthen my drawing and design abilities through more work opportunities, telling compelling stories for myself, for brands, and for audiences as a storyteller who is open-minded and creatively versatile.
